Reparative Stitching is as old as cloth itself, but it can be very expressive and creative. Come join us for this two day class and learn how to care and repair your well-loved pieces! We will cover parachute stitch for linear tears, patching, darned weaving, and a little bit of basic sashiko. Reparative Stitching extends the life of an item, reduces waste, and can be used for creative problem-solving. Research has found that not only it reduces textile waste and its environmental impact, but it also saves money while providing personal satisfaction like creativity, stress relief, and a deeper connection to the pieces in our wardrobes.
