Although I can't say I've lived in Salem my entire life, I grew up in Salem and attended collage in Columbia, so i didn't go far for a while. I have three grandchildren, and will soon have my first great-grandchildren when twins arrive this summer! I'm a retired public school teacher, and enjoyed teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels across my career. while teaching high school, i was selected to be a STARR teacher for the Missouri Department of Education- which is stood for select teacher as Regional Resources. For two years i worked both at the Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) in Rolla at Missouri S&T and across a seven-county region doing on-site professional development with area teachers. When COVID arrived, things changed and most of the work went online; it was time to move on to retirement! I now volunteer for several organizations, but spend most of those hours helping as an exhibit coordinator at the Ozark Natural & Cultural Resource Center- the ONCRC. We are fortunate to have many willing friends and volunteers who help us keep the ONCRC an interesting, pleasant, informative place to visit free of charge. Our goal is to install six different exhibits across the year, with the "crown jewel" of Trees & Trains closing out the holiday season
